Web Site Development
There are literally thousands of website development systems, programming languages, technologies and "do-it-yourself" website authoring systems. For the average person, figuring out what to do, or how to do it is a daunting process. Most people have no desire to figure out HOW to design and develop a website. They just need it done.
That's where I can help.
Since 1982, I have been a Marketing Manager at a variety of high tech and computer-related industries. My job was to develop marketing materials and develop marketing programs to generate leads and prospects, with the goal of converting prospects to customers. Over the years, the internet has dominated the methods and efficiency of publishing, but like many other companies, we had to pay expensive website programmers to maintain our website, and also make minor edits and updates. The hassle and expense was unnecessary, but the way the site was initially developed REQUIRED expensive programmers to make ANY change. As a typical corporate client, I wanted to have the benefit of someone to help initially develop a website and do the more complicated programming requirements. What I DIDN'T want was the expense and hassle required to make minor edits that would have taken me just a moment to make, but instead we had to pay an expensive programmer and coordinate each edit, then check to see if it was done properly, then redo it if it wasn't, then recheck it again, and ultimately to get billed for the experience. There HAD to be a better way.
Several years ago, I began looking at methods that a non-programmer could publish information over the internet, and began studying website publishing systems where "ordinary people" could be involved in the generation and publication of much of their own information. Obviously, there are all sorts of possible solutions, but when I learned about the new generations of public domain website publishing sytems called "Content Management Systems" (CMS), I was intrigued. CMS is a robust database that is used to store all the information added to the system, and it is served to a "front end" (a website) as needed by the user.
A extensive variety of CMS systems, but I choose a website application development system called "Joomla". Joomla has lots of advantages for users (and clients), and is relatively simple to learn how to use and edit. Within a few hours, people who never thought they could EVER learn how to "program websites" are busily and happily developing content and publishing it to the "world wide web".
So, today, I focus on development of websites that utilize the Joomla application development platform - which by the way is non-proprietary, open source web development framework. Its also very affordable (in fact free)! Oh, yes, it DOES cost some money, because most people or companies want enhancements to the basic Joomla-originated website - and those enhancements are generally sold commercially - but for relatively little money. In fact, darn near free.
Most of what it will cost you to have a website produced is the amount of content that is required, the amount of images, video and other content you wish to include in your website, and the amount of time required to produce "the look" or structural system needed for your requirements. How do we figure out what is required? We'll talk. We'll meet. I'll quote you a price, and can provide you with a website plan that you'll need to review and approve in advance.
My goal is the same as yours. Produce a website as efficiently and quickly as possible, in as little time as possible, and for as little cost as possible. To the degree you can help provide input, content and feedback during this process will make this development process efficient and productive.
